Fields of Honor by Robert
Stanek War came to the Kingdoms. Many perished in the turmoil and unrest. An attempt was made to kidnap a princess and assassinate a king. Now, from the ancient past a dark power returns. As prophecy becomes reality, the factions struggle for control, only to further divide the lands. Some would say that King Andrew Alder foolishly agreed to support the Elves of the Reaches, sending men to aid their cause when the causes of all Men in all lands were being put to the test of steel. And in the North, men back their words with action. Against a backdrop of treachery and intrigue, murder and mayhem, the price of free will is high. Many will pay with their lives. Many will succumb to imprisonment and enslavement. For when alliances shatter, old hatreds rise anew and the plotting and scheming begin.

In the Service of Dragons II by Robert Stanek As prophecy becomes reality, the factions struggle for control, only to further divide the lands. Some would say that King Andrew Alder foolishly agreed to support the Elves of the Reaches, sending men to aid their cause when the causes of all men in all lands were being put to the test of steel. And in the North, men back their words with action. Against a backdrop of treachery and intrigue, murder and mayhem, the price of freedom is high. Many will pay with their lives. Many will succumb. For when alliances shatter, old hatreds rise anew and the plotting and scheming begin. Bold, inventive, brilliantly imagined, In the Service of Dragons, Book Two is a novel of magic and wonder, a tale of pure excitement you will not soon forget.
In the Service of Dragons III by Robert Stanek There are some who fear this age to be Ruin Mist's last. For if men succumb to darkness, there will be no beginning, and darkness will surely rule forever. It is in this time at the twilight of the age of men that those long lost have returned to thwart the darkness. They are the fallen sons of ages past and present. They are the keepers, the watchers, and the guardians. They are those who hold the key to Ruin Mist's future. Bold, inventive, brilliantly imagined, In the Service of Dragons, Book Three is a novel of magic and wonder, a tale of pure excitement you will not soon forget.
In the Service of Dragons IV by Robert Stanek A dark shadow has been cast across the known lands. War sweeps through the divided nations of men and elves. There is great despair for the future of men, for if the greatest of all kingdoms can fail there can be no hope in tomorrow's tomorrow for any man in any land. But what of the elves far across the great sea? If men succumb to the darkness, the light of the elves must surely succumb as well, and then darkness will rule forever. Who can know for certain, but surely the fallen sons of ages past and present must have the final say.
Keeper Martin’s Tale by Robert Stanek After the Great War that divided the peoples, the kingdoms of men plunged into a Dark Age that lasted 500 years. To heal the lands and restore the light, the great kings decreed that magic and all that is magical, be it creature, man, or device, shall be cleansed to dust. The cleansing raged for so long that no human could recall a time without it and it is in this time that the Dark Lord Sathar returned from the dark beyond. The one hope of the peoples of Ruin Mist was Queen Mother, the elf queen of old. She saw a way out of everlasting darkness, a path that required the union of the divided peoples. And so it began...
Kingdom Alliance by Robert Stanek Two dozen elves set out from Leklorall, the capital of East Reach. After an ambush at sea only a handful survived, of those only two reached the far shores of the great sea. Their names were Seth and Galan and they sided with Great Kingdom during the Battle of Quashan', helping to defend the valley city with skills and speeds no living man had ever seen before. But success on the battlefield could not undo the past. Elves and men are mortal enemies, as it has been since the Great War when the elves of Under-Earth sought to enslave all the peoples of Ruin Mist. Now even as Seth attempts to sway Great Kingdom's leaders to stop the coming darkness, there are few who will truly listen--and even fewer who can look beyond the treachery of days past.
Kingdoms and the Elves of the Reaches by Robert Stanek
Dramatic illustrations draw the reader into the Tolkienesque
world of Ruin Mist, plunged into darkness after a Great War five hundred
years past. Blaming magic for their demise, the Kings of Men have decreed
that all things magical be destroyed. Yet despite their efforts, the magical
Dark Lord is slowly returning to power. Another bloody battle is
foreshadowed for Ruin Mist when Adrina, the spoiled and lonely princess of
Imtal, is visited by a mysterious woman who predicts Adrina's ghastly
future. Meanwhile in the kingdom of Elves, Seth, devoted First of the Red
Order of the Queen Mother Elf, is sent on a journey across the Great Sea to
prevent war. Stuck somewhere in the middle is Vilmos, a young magical
boy-who-would-be-mage, abducted for his own safety by a Yoda-like guide
named Xith. All three journey to an unknown fate against treacherous and
sometimes supernatural foes. Stanek augments the beginning of this complex
tale with illustrations that are sure to attract fans of graphic novels and
classic Tolkien alike-the only weakness in the illustrations is their
scarcity. Stanek will likely draw a cult following, but his work is not for
the novice fantasy reader. A complicated glossary at the end includes
twenty-two pages of "People, Places, and Things in Ruin Mist," complete with
geographical references, family lineages, and extraordinary sketches.
Despite the sophisticated plot, however, this cliffhanger guarantees fans,
and those fans will be ready to wield their swords against the Dark Lord in
Stanek's next installment.

Spaceship Earth by Tom Schwartz BANG! Particles of matter and antimatter exploded in all directions. As the universe expanded it began to cool, and common particles began to form. These particles, called baryons, photons, neutrons, electrons, and quarks, became the building blocks of matter and life, as we know it; and the cockroach survived everything nature threw at it. Today, the roach is the same pesty critter it ever was. Unlike the roach, the human race had somewhat evolved. However, we still had two arms, two hands, two feet, with five digits on each. The question is "How much longer will the roach, and mankind, continue to survive in our universe?"

Wrongly Accused by Tom Schwartz When two New Jersey policemen mistake author Jack Shepherd for an underworld drug dealer as he drives home from a meeting with his publisher, they chase his truck on the New Jersey Turnpike and use an unauthorized procedure to stop him. The actions of the police backfire when they realize that Jack is not the notorious drug dealer, but by then it's too late to undo the damage and the only way out for the police is to suppress the evidence and fabricate a story that implicates Jack based on his drunkenness. Jack's attorney advises him to plead guilty to a lesser offense, which would result in a short stay at a minimum-security facility. The sentencing judge accepted the plea bargain, but uses Jack's case as an example and gives him to the maximum sentence. While in prison, a hardened criminal named Salvador Salinis thinks Jack is an acquaintance and yells the name "Parodi" before attacking him. This attack is the first clue as to whom the police thought he was and the first clue to Jack's freedom.
